Warehouse Management Systems for UAE Warehouses & 3PLs

Know what arrived, where it was stored and what left the dock. ControlShift develops custom WMS software in Dubai for UAE distributors, fulfilment teams and 3PL operators that need traceable stock movements across their warehouses.

Scope, integrations and rollout tailored to your operation.

Built around the work your team actually does

An inventory total does not tell a picker which bin holds the stock, whether a batch is quarantined or why an order is short. When receiving, picking and dispatch use disconnected records, errors surface at the loading dock. A warehouse management system captures each movement at the point of work and keeps an auditable path from receipt to shipment.

Capabilities to scope around your operation

Receiving and putaway

Receive against purchase orders or advance shipment notices. Capture shortages, overages and damaged goods, then direct accepted stock to a suitable zone and bin with scan confirmation.

Inventory and bin control

Track available, allocated, quarantined and damaged quantities separately. Support batch, serial and expiry records where needed, with authorised stock adjustments and movement history.

Picking and replenishment

Choose discrete, batch or wave picking around your order profile. Apply FIFO or FEFO where appropriate, replenish pick faces and route stock shortages to a supervisor instead of silently substituting items.

Packing and dispatch

Validate picked items at the pack station, capture carton details and prepare labels. Link dispatch confirmation to the delivery order so the transport team receives the actual packed quantities.

Returns and cycle counts

Inspect returned items before restocking, quarantine or disposal. Run cycle counts by location or stock category, investigate variances and keep approvals attached to every adjustment.

Multi-warehouse and 3PL operations

Record transfer-out, in-transit and transfer-in movements between facilities. Separate client stock, permissions and portal access; capture storage and handling events for agreed 3PL billing workflows.

From the first task to a reconciled record

  1. 01

    Receive and inspect

Scan the delivery against the expected receipt. Record batch, expiry or serial data and separate accepted stock from discrepancies.

  2. 02

    Put away and replenish

Confirm the destination bin and each stock movement. Replenish pick faces from reserve locations according to agreed rules.

  3. 03

    Pick, check and pack

Allocate available stock to orders, guide the picker and verify items before sealing the carton. Resolve exceptions before dispatch.

  4. 04

    Dispatch and reconcile

Confirm the hand-off to transport, update connected systems and preserve the movement trail for customer enquiries, returns and cycle counts.

Connect your existing systems

Connect purchase orders and finance to your ERP, import sales orders from your commerce platform and send packed shipments to your TMS or courier. We assess barcode and QR formats, scanner models, label printers and Wi-Fi coverage on the warehouse floor. Arabic and English workflows, access permissions and data-hosting requirements are agreed before implementation. Temperature monitoring for cold-chain inventory depends on supported sensors and a defined exception process.

Practical AI and automation

Demand forecasting can help plan replenishment when sales and stock history are reliable. Slotting recommendations can use movement frequency, handling constraints and product dimensions. Document extraction can prepare receipt data for a warehouse operator to verify. We pilot these workflows on real records and retain approval steps for stock adjustments and other decisions that affect inventory accuracy.

A phased rollout your team can operate

Map locations, units of measure, SKU identifiers and opening stock before migration. Pilot one zone with real receipts, short picks, damaged returns and transfer discrepancies. Test scanners and printers during a working shift, reconcile stock at cutover and agree a rollback plan before expanding across facilities.

Questions before you start

Do we need a WMS if we already have inventory software?

Inventory software usually records quantities and values. A WMS manages the physical work: receiving, putaway, bin movements, replenishment, picking, packing and dispatch. If your current system handles those reliably, integration or a targeted extension may be more suitable than a replacement.

Can the warehouse system connect to our ERP?

We assess your ERP APIs or import and export options, then define which system owns items, purchase orders, stock movements and financial entries. Retry handling and reconciliation are part of the integration scope so a failed message does not quietly change stock balances.

Can you support barcode scanners and QR codes?

Yes. We check scanner operating systems, supported code formats and label printers against your workflow. Handheld or mobile scanning can validate receipts, locations, picks and dispatches. Existing devices should be tested before a wider rollout.

How does a WMS support several 3PL customers?

Stock records, permissions and orders are separated by owner. Client portals can expose only the relevant inventory and shipment information, while warehouse staff work across shared locations under controlled access rules.

Can the system handle batches, expiry dates and cold-chain stock?

Batch and expiry tracking, FEFO picking and quarantine status can be included. Cold-chain monitoring also requires supported sensors, timestamped readings and an agreed process for investigating temperature excursions. Requirements are scoped with your operations team.

What do you need to prepare a WMS quote?

We need the warehouse layout, SKU and order volumes, existing software, scanning equipment and key workflows. The quote follows a review of integrations, migration, training and rollout requirements, with the proposed scope documented for your review.
